I am pretty excited about the 2010 Florida Marlins. I'm like George Washington with them, I cannot tell a lie. This team could be scary good or scary bad this season. Such volatility is almost unique to any team that has as much youth as the Fish Sticks do this season. If their young players all come of age this year, expect the wild card to come out of the NL East in the form of the Florida Marlins. If not, expect a team from the NL West to take it.
The Marlins have one of the most exciting players in Major League Baseball in Hanley Ramirez. In one of the most balanced trades in recent memory, the Marlins traded Josh Beckett to the Boston Red Sox for Hanley Ramirez and a few other minor leaguers. Each team has reaped the benefits, as Beckett helped the Sox to a World Series in 2007 and Ramirez hit .342 last season helping the Marlins to a second place finish in the East.
Some of the other exciting young players on the Marlins to watch in 2010 include Cameron Maybin, Andrew Miller, Sean West, and Chris Coghlan. Maybin and Miller were part of the Miguel Cabrera trade in 2008. Coghlan hit .321 last season in 504 at-bats. West was 8-6 with an ERA of 4.79 in 103.1 innings pitched in his first big league season. If these lads put it together this season, along with the continued excellence of Josh Johnson and strong second half from Ricky Nolasco, expect big things from the Fish this year.

1. Chris Coghlan (LF)
2. Cameron Maybin (CF)
