Top Three Rushing Defensemen in the NHL

Charlie Klein

Today whilst watching the Washington Capitals defeat the Chicago Blackhawks in dramatic fashion 4-3 in overtime, Mike Milbury gave his top three rushing defensemen in the league. And as usual Milbury snubbed the Capitals.

How on earth can you not put Mike Green near the top in terms of offensive defensmen!?! Green leads all defensemen in the NHL with 17 goals and 52 assists for the team with the best record in the league.

So here's my top three. Hate it or love it, Milbury, but I didn't bring my eurotrash game on this piece.

1. Mike Green - Washington Capitals

2. Dan Boyle - San Jose Sharks

3. Drew Doughty - Los Angeles Kings

  1. You should have seen the special they did on Doughty- I guess one of his amateur coaches told him to stop using the spin move that makes his game so beautiful because it would never work in the juniors or NHL. I'm pretty sure that guy looks like the world's biggest idiot right now.

  2. HA HA yes that is totally true Alexander. Especially now that Doughty is in the Norris discussion. I love that Kings squad too. Not a Kings fan, but I hope they keep those guys together, they are fun to watch.
