Koshin Egal
I just heard or read a nasty rumor that Real Madrid have signed Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Karim Benzema, and Raul Albiol. God the English Premier League spends way too much money and have unfair advantage over the rest of Europe. Oh wait Real Madrid plays in Spain’s La Liga.
Real Madrid has spent a little over £187 million this summer. I don’t think that’s even possible to spend that much in EA Sports Fifa. Where is Michel Platini and Sepp Blatter’s utter outrage at this? Platini at least found it a little embarrassing that Ronaldo cost so much. Although he told L'Equipe: "Ronaldo's transfer stood out for me, but if Real have guarantees from the banks.” Platini calm down before Real Madrid becomes nervous that their behavior is absolutely outrageous. But good old Blatter has continued to bring up the absolute havoc that the Premier League has brought with their unbridled spending and smashing of world record transfer fees twice in one week. According to various reports Blatter sees the ownership policy of the Premier League as an inherent advantage that has led to a migration of talent to England.
Believe it or not Real Madrid are not satisfied. Frank Ribery has now stated that he wants out of Bayern Munich. Ribery told L'Equipe: "I have decided that I want to leave. It will be Real Madrid or nothing. I will wait to see how things pan out but I would like to hold talks with the Bayern management soon." If memory stands correct Madrid have only been rebuffed once this summer and that was apparently by Valencia and David Villa. So Ribery will most likely happen but Bayern will probably hold out till the very last moment they can and maybe do what Manchester United did last season with Ronaldo. However, Madrid will eventually get/buy/steal/force what they want on the rest of the football world this year.
Galacticos are back and all it takes is spending a ridiculous amount of money. Now I wonder what they may have been capable of doing in a great economy and of course being part of the big bad Premier League.
