Koshin Egal

Body slams, steel chairs to the head, Carmelo Anthony and Kobe Bryant playing a basketball game? Now that could be an interesting sight during this year’s NBA playoffs if Vince McMahon has his way. The WWE puts on a little live show every Monday that they like to call Monday Night Raw. This Monday May 25th, they are scheduled to put on this event in the Pepsi Center in Denver. Only problem is that game 4 of this year’s western conference final between the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Lakers is also scheduled for that night. Now the Nuggets haven’t been in this situation since 1985 so maybe Vince McMahon was right in his accusation that Nuggets’ owner Stan Kroenke didn’t believe that his team would be where they are right now.

Vince McMahon suggests this issue should be settled the old fashion way with a steel cage match. If only life were that simple. Hey you cut into my parking space, I wanted that shirt, and of course don’t talk to my girl like that. Normally I would say that we should give peace a chance John Lennon style, but it is hard to argue with the effectiveness of a steel cage solution. Matter of fact I’m pretty sure if the founding fathers were alive today they would approve of settling problems through a steel cage match.

Now technically Vince McMahon and the WWE are probably right in this situation, since they booked the event way back in April 15. The Nuggets were the clear number 2 seed in the NBA western conference with over 54 wins. So the owner should had a little more faith in the possibility that his team could still be playing in late May by winning 8 more times. The NBA is a very powerful league and I see this situation being settled in the favor of the Nuggets playing their playoff game. What’s the possibility that the NBA pulls a Yani? By that I mean an NHL playoff game between the Washington Capitals and the Pittsburgh Penguins had to be rescheduled because of a Yani concert. Yes the great and all-powerful Yani goes before the NHL. So lucky the NBA has a decent television deal so I don’t see them doing this. But it would be awesome if only a steel cage match could settle this. If it does work could world peace be next?
